Windows device driver information for DERMALOG Fingerprint Scanner ZF 1
The DERMALOG Fingerprint Scanner ZF 1 has gained the distinction of being qualified for use in the storage of fingerprints on e-passports issued from Germany. The associated device driver supports one of the smallest optical fingerprint scanners in the computer industry. It is capable of capturing individual fingers with the resulting data being used mostly for civilian applications. These types of applications supported by the device driver is deployed mostly in the area of fingerprint verification and identification. The device driver helps to implement the proprietary total reflection technology to deliver a relatively high quality fingerprint scan. The device driver also supports the deployment of a newer technology that works in conjunction with this existing standard that allows for the detection of fake fingers. The detection module helps to maintain integrity of the scanning results by ensuring that forged fingerprints can be readily identified.
Outdated Drivers?
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
This optical scanning based hardware component readily plugs into an available version 2.0 Universal Serial Bus interface port. By design the device driver supports the scanning of both wet and dry fingers while maintaining high quality of images. The scanning resolution that can be achieved with the DERMALOG Fingerprint Scanner ZF 1 can reach up to 500 dots per inch. The image capture area is limited to 16 by 24 mm based on its manufacturer's design. The image size of the fingerprint is set at 320 by 480 pixels using the built-in optical scanning sensor. The device driver allows the computer user to deploy the supported hardware component on virtually any type of computer system. In terms of color depth this supported hardware component makes use of an 8-bit depth with the ability to produce 256 varying levels of gray. When the correct device driver is installed into the host computer system the approximate file size generated by the scanning process is around 155 kilobytes only. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for Windows and DERMALOG Fingerprint Scanner ZF 1 errors before installing any driver updates.
All drivers support the following OS
- Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1)
- Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008 R2
Main Drivers

SecuGen Fingerprint Management Application
(64-bit) (32-bit)
For Windows 7 only: Install this after installing the WBF driver. The FMA is used to enroll and manage fingerprints within Windows Biometric Framework applications on Windows 7 only. (FMA is not needed for later versions of Windows because the enroll and manage functions are natively included in those versions of Windows.)
For U20 and U10 type of devices only: Use this tool to configure the Fake Finger Rejection threshold and enable logging of events for devices based on the following sensors: U10, U20, U20-A, U20-AP
